@dane23, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Print Settings!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To adjust the position of printed text to line up with your checks on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e Printer, you will need to configure the print settings and possibly update the document layout. Follow these steps:

Adjust Print Settings

  1. Open the document you want to print on your PC.
  2. Check the page setup:
    • In the application you are using to print your checks (e.g., Word), go to "Page Setup" and ensure the page size and margins are correctly set for your checks.
  3. Adjust the print alignment:
    • Access the printer properties from the print dialog box.
    • Look for settings like "Print Position Adjustment" or "Printer Alignment". These options might be under "Advanced Settings" or a similar section depending on your printer driver.
    • Adjust the vertical position to move the letters downward as needed.

Modify Document Layout

  1. Open a New Document in your word-processing software.
  2. Check Margins and Spacing:
    • Set the top margin to a higher value to move the content downward.
    • Use the "Paragraph" settings to ensure there is additional spacing before the paragraphs containing the text that prints above the checks.
  3. Test Print:
    • Print a test page on plain paper and check the alignment.
    • Make necessary adjustments by increasing or decreasing the margins and paragraph spacing.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
