My client has an OfficeJet 9100 device and Windows 11 OS. They called and said that their printer is working sporadically, but most of the time it doesn't work. I've had this problem before with WSD ports, so I proceeded to switch the printer port to Standard TCP/IP port and confirmed that everything was working properly. Not more than 5 minutes later, they called me back and said they were unable to print. So I went back in to the port settings and found that it had reverted to the WSD port. Can anyone explain why this would happen and how to prevent it from happening in the future?
Thanks!

You should be able to disable Microsoft discovery service through the embedded web server. We typically disable the print services but leave scanning active.
