I'm trying to use HP OfficeJet Pro 6978  all in one  with my Lenovo Chromebook.

The printer and scanner get discovered with no problems. But, the name with Fax is not showing up, neither by discovery, nor by adding the device manually.

I'm looking for any help in how to use this device for sending faxes directly from Chromebook with out printing the document first.

Thanks

Welcome to the HP English Community --

I cannot test this directly - we have not a single Chrome-OS device in our home office.

I do not find any method that supports what you want to do, that is, sit in front of your Chromebook and initiate a fax from the keyboard on the device.

The printer does support fax from the printer.

and

If you wish to do so, you could try using HP Mobile Fax.
