I just installed this printer using HP Smart on my mac and I have to say this was / is a pretty terrible experience.
The HP Smart software / setup program is pretty terrible (white screens / hangs / very slow) but I finally managed to setup my printer. I can see it in HP Smart but have lots of issues
1. Scan To Email simply does not work.
- Takes forever (Loading ....... Connecting ...... Preparing Scannning ...... Cancelling ......).
- All these dialogs take minutes to complete and it never scans this way. (Scan Failed)
- Only way to scan is to use HP Smart, wait for the printer to show up and hit scan (But I want to be able to scan from the printer itself).
2. Scan To Computer also does not work.
- No idea how to enable it.
- On the printer web page it simply says "You cannot use this function because it has been disabled. For more information, contact the person who set up the printer.".
- I am the person setting up the printer.
- On the printer display itself it says to open the software and navigate to a menu that does not even exist (Print, Scan and Fax -> Scan Actions -> Manage Scan To Computer).
3. Dropbox integration does not work
- Shows weird messages on screen. null - aquire.sevice - back
I tried it when connected to my Wifi and also when connected to ethernet. On both occasions it simply does not work.
What do I need to in order to get this to work ?
