HP OfficeJet Pro 8710
macOS 10.14 Mojave

My HP Officejet Pro 8710 allways has the first prontout of the day fuzzy.

This only happens if printing from mac OS (2 devices)  or from IOS (2 devices). Not when printing from Microsoft.

2nd and later printouts of any files are all "normal" . Looks like a driver issue. Is this a known issoue, anything that can fix this?

Best regards, Hans

A warm welcome to HP Support Community!

Updating printer firmware, Mac software, iOS and then setting up the printer with AirPrint may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:

Update printer firmware

Update software on Mac

Update iOS

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button  at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

6.) Try to print.

On your iOS devices, try printing using AirPrint.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi, Senan6806. Thanks for the tips. I am using the printer trough UTP, wired. Allways with the last firmware, as the printer checks for that itself.

On the MAC the current drivers are newer than the drivers in the loose firmware bundel, so that should not be an issue either.

Remarkable, i noticed the same thing happens when printing with an ipad. Again, not wireless but trough ethernet connection.

To try airprint is an option, but i assume in the background it will use the same drivers. I will update after the test with airprint.

Cheers, Hans
