Anyone have any suggestions for my situation?
I have an HP Officejet 7210 All-in-one that I've had for some time. (It has been working fine all this time.)
As my last computer was wearing out (i.e., starting to act a little 'ginchey'), it was time for an upgrade... So I went from one Dell 64-bit to another.
The 7210 worked fine on my last Dell, however I can't get all of the software (scanning, printing, faxing, etc.) to install correctly from the CD (obviously old operating system version). HP web site for driver updates is sort of useless (they appear to have abandoned this machine, no longer supporting it).
Here is the rub: Old pc was running Windows 10, new machine is running Windows 10.
Any suggestions from folks out there?
Frankly, if I am just a victim of HP 'yanking' support from an otherwise operable device, I am thinking going 'elsewhere' for my next printer if I must upgrade.
Sort of sad, I used to be a big HP fan over many years, but their current support, products, etc. are leading me to look elsewhere these days.
Thanks to any and all, for support, ideas, suggestions, et cetera.

Hi Shlomi,
Excuse my laggardly reply (have been busy with other stuff...)
Your solution worked completely (and painlessly), so many, many thanks!
I hope both my 'thumbs up' and 'accepted solution' came through ok (wasn't sure as this is my first time on the forum in a long time).
Thanks again, for your super support!

I was in the same boat as Martin, with the same negative thoughts about HP. I love my 7210 all-in-one, did not want to make any new purchases. I bought it at a garage sale 12 years ago for $5, and it works like a charm. Your solution did the trick and I can now use it with my new computer. Thanks.

Worked for me, too! Thank you!
I removed all HP software and removed my device from Windows before adding new software. I also powered down the printer by holding down the power button for thirty seconds and unplugging.
When I installed the software, it did not recognize that my device was attached via USB at first. However, I proceeded with the install, and it worked out great.
Cannot thank you enough, Shlomi. This saves me big time.

I can't seem to get this solution to work. I am using an HP All in One Computer with Windows 10. I previously had my 7210 All in One Printer working with this Computer. I can't recall what I used for software the first time. When I attempt to print a dialogue box come up for a fax. I am going to try to reinstall the software solution again. Please help.
