HP OfficeJet 8022 All-in-One Printer

Display on the HP OfficeJet 8022 says Printer Error. Error Code 71.02.4A.  I've tried what I've seen in other support threads about having it powered on and pulling the power from the back, but that does not resolve the issue.  Is there a way to do a factory reset on it or get support?

Hi @Bryan118,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 71.02.4A on an HP Officejet 8022 printer indicates a problem with the printer's carriage mechanism. This error code usually appears when the printer's carriage is unable to move from one side to the other or gets stuck in the middle.

To troubleshoot this error code, you can try the following steps.

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Check for any obstructions or debris that may be blocking the carriage's movement. Clean the carriage path with a soft cloth.
  • Ensure that the carriage moves freely along the entire length of the printer's carriage path. If it does not, try gently pushing the carriage to see if it will move. If it does not move, contact HP support for further assistance.
  • Turn the printer back on and try printing again. If the error persists, perform a hard reset of the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
