Officejet 9025
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Suddenly the Officejet 9025 printer is missing from the list of printers. The scanner is there, the fax is there but no printer. When I try to install the printer (IP address 192.168.1.50) it is seen in the HP Smart install app but NO printer is displayed and no way to print a test page. When I try to MANUALLY install the printer it finds the printer by IP address (I put it in manually) but it tries to use a PCL3 printer driver and I get an error "Handle is invalid" error.

Is there a way to download a driver for this printer and NOT use this "SMART" installer? It ain't too smart! I need to get this printer working, and have more recent drivers than PCL3. Note: If I choose NOT to use the currently installed (PCL3) driver I get another error that prohibits me from going further.

How do I get this working, again???

Hi @isd_pcman1,

 I'd be happy to assist you!

 Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

--->Select your HP printer.

--->Select Uninstall.

--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.

--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

--->Click on the Drivers tab.

--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

--->Select OK.

--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

--->Close Devices and Printers.

And then reinstall the printer full-featured drivers from the software and drivers page

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Unfortunately that link just takes me to the HP Smart app, which has been absolutely USELESS in this process. It just goes off into never-never land. Then I get a prompt to just do this in Printers. Then printers fails to install the printer. SO I'm back where I started, without the use of the printer and another hour of time lost. I wish HP would just publish the drivers instead of this BS. I get it that SOME people need hand holding with these things but IT pros do not and when there's a problem (like this) it's next to impossible to fix. Arrrggggghhhh!
