HP Officejet 9025

Hello,

My printer's touch screen is stuck on "Thank you for installing your HP Instant Ink cartridges. Don't forget to recycle your used cartridges. You can find info on the how to recycle at..."

I replaced the Black ink cartridge a week ago. All OK

A few days later a screen message popped up stating as noted above.

I touched the "OK" in the lower right corner and All OK.

Today I cannot clear the message so I do not have access to the screen's control buttons.

Printer prints from the computer but I cannot copy anything.

I unplugged the power to the the printer for a couple minutes and reconnected - no change.

The printer is only connected to the iMac wirelessly.

Thank you for any insights

Dan W

After struggling with this for hours and resetting the printer several times, I finally found a simple solution.

  1. Open the paper tray on the printer. A message will appear telling you the paper try is open.
  2. Click "OK" to close the paper tray message.
  3. Close the paper try.
  4. The HP Instant Ink message will appear again, click OK and it will close.

I had the same problem today. This seems to be a firmware bug. Post 2 shows a solution how to solve this. Thanks.

This did fix the prob so we can now use our printer. Thank you! This issue only started happening recently. Is this bug related to the newest firmware? Please fix.

Same issue with my HP 9020 Series, very dumb, the only fix I found was

Step 1: Open the (buggy) HP app on your computer

Step 2: Go to printer status

Step 3: Press OK on the notification of the same message on the printer itself, but on the HP  app

And then it fixes itself, don't know why this wasn't fixed in a firmware update though.

OMG Trimla - thank you!   I have a HP 9010 series, and have spent a frustrating  time looking for non-existing notifications or messages, in the "notifications" section.  After reading your post, I found the "notification" regarding the printer cartridges in the HP  App (on my computer), in the printer status, which is under "settings" on my version of the app.

Nothing on the app's home screen indicated that I had a notification, so I would have kept on hunting for some time without your note.

I had another message regarding the ink levels :  "..cartridge levels low, you do not need to replace yet but..." which was also solved the same way.
