Whenever I select something to print, the default is "Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8600". I have to then choose, in the dropdown menu, the printer I want, which is "HP Officejet Pro 8600". I have deleted the fax option, under printers, in settings. I have completely uninstalled it and reinstalled it, to no avail. Funny thing is, it just started to do this. I'm sure it's a simple process to change the default........but I seem to be dumbfounded. Can anyone assist?

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are unable to set the default printer, I am glad to assist you.

Follow these steps to set the default printer:-

To choose a default printer, select the Start  button and then Settings . Go to Devices > Printers & scanners > select a printer > Manage. Then select Set as default. If you have Let Windows manage my default printer selected, you'll need to deselect it before you can choose a default printer on your own.To choose a default printer, select the Start  button and then Settings .
