I reviewed your post and I understand that the printer is not powering on.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.
- Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

My problem is similar but more precisely framed as follows:
The machine powers-up after the power button is depressed for a while, scans and prints but neither the power button nor the LCD display illuminate.
The fix suggested by The_Fossette is ineffectual.
Lighting circuit failure?

I originally posted the problem ( see Sid_C ) ; I appreciated the solution suggested by The_Fosstte which I had originally tried, but didn't work, before coming to the forum for help. My printer was out of warranty, local shops would not touch it because they considered it "Throwaway" now, even though originally cost $500+ plus still had 2 complete sets of costly ink. After much thought, I finally solved the problem by replacing the Formatter Main Board A7f64 for my OfficeJet Pro 8610 ($25 used on eBay). Working 100% now! -Sid_C

Zin_Darwin: See my post with my solution. Maybe similiar to your problem if you have a HP Officejet Pro 8610. In my case, the Formatter Mainboard controls a lot of processes. I went to a web site "https:/www.ifixit.com" that has doc's for replacing some parts. Took out my Motherboard to obtain the part#. Since it's difficult finding & purchasing the HP parts, I searched eBay for used parts in working condition. Replacing my Motherboard was 8 steps & took 20 min. Only special tool I used was a T-9Torx to remove 4 screws holding the cover to gain access to motherboard. Then later, the motherboard. Took pictures so I knew exactly which & where the wire connections attached. Good to mark the "top" of the connectors too. Disclaimer: This was a specific problem/solution only for my printer.
