HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer 1KR42A
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer keep freezing on ALL the screens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Now I can only get to the "cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in instant ink" (WHICH IT WAS). When I hit hide it gets stuck at the aligning print cartridges but does nothing.  I try to shut it down. It does nothing.

Been fighting it for 2 months and my printer literally JUST came out of warranty after it happened.

Looks like a firmware update broke it, after I re-enrolled in the ink program.

I can power it off by unplugging, but when it comes back on it tells me I can't print until the ink is registered (already registered a few months ago) and then it tells me it needs to align and then it gets stuck again.

There's paper in the machine, and full ink cartridges. This machine has barley been used, less than 30 pages.

Very frustrating, especially after it made me re-register a new credit card to use the ink i already paid for before it stopped working.

NOTE: I've tried the hard reset -- Unplug, waiting hours, hold down the power on button.  Then replug into another socket...........  Nothing.

The printer starts up and tells me I can't use the ink until it's registered (it is), then immediately goes to the "Printing alignment page........." and will not move off of that.  It will not connect to the internet, NOTHING.  It sits there spinning for hours.

How can i stop the cycle --is there a way to do a factory reset?

I see several other people with the same option, one of the HP support folks suggested a factory reset but sent the directions via private message instead of posting them --can I have those instructions, pleasE?

Hello and thank you for trying to help, I’ve done what you’ve suggested and I was able to get into the support/reset screen but even after a reset it still goes to the quote need to be enrolled in inkjet program“ screen and then the “printing the alignment page“ screen and then it just sits there.

I let it sit overnight last night and today it’s still doing the same thing.

I think the problem is it doesn’t connect to the Internet to see that the ink IS registered and paid for [my account is up-to-date] so it’s trying to print an alignment page but since it thinks the ink is invalid it just gets stuck not being able to print anything.

I didn’t have any of these problems before the last firmware update.

This is also a good reason not to sign up for the ink program because I’ve only printed 87 pages on this printer in less than a year and it’s basically a brick because HP is trying to punish me for not having an ink subscription (when I actually do). Crazy.

Are there any other options here?
