Solved!

HP Officejet Pro 9025, control panel is unresponsive to touch

HP Recommended
Officejet Pro 9025
macOS 10.15 Catalina

My Officejet Pro 9025 appears to function correctly is all ways except that often the control is unresponsive to touch. Further, it never goes to sleep, but stays on 24/7.  This does not appear to affect basic printing and scan functions launched from the desktop, but I cannot do anything via the control panel.  The 9025 is connected to a Mac.

Hi @Tomicky24,

I'd like to help!

Try the steps below -

Let's try a power reset on the printer

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I tried the "reset the printer" solution and, as of now, it works.  Time will tell.  If it turns out that I have to reset it too often, I will go to the firmware upgrade solution.  Thank you.
