HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e All-in-One Printer

I just purchased a HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e for one of my remote users who will be temporarily working from two locations. The printer came with leaky setup cartridges and won't let me past this message. I have replacement ink carts but of course I can't use them for setup. I worked with a tech at HP yesterday to try and override this requirement but his instructions (home-back, back-home, open the ink door) weren't working and we even did a video chat. I'm trying to access the support menu.

Does anyone know how to override this on the 9125e? I really hate to send it back and order a new printer unless it's absolutely necessary.

Thanks.
