I'm trying to install teh printer software and drivers on my new HP ZBook laptop running Windows 7 but I'm getting the following errors:
1. This computer does not have the necessary USB software support to allow completion of a USB installation
2. This computer does not have the necessary USB hardware support enabled to allow completion of USB instalaltion.
PLease let me know if anyone else faced similar issue and how was it fixed.

Hi,
Click the Start button and type %temp% into the search bar, then open the shown Temp folder.
Open the latest HP installation folder which begins with 7z (e.g. 7zs1234)
Open the Setup folder.
Locate the usbready.exe file and rename it into usbready.old.exe
Browse back to the main extraction folder (the folders who starts with 7z) and launch the Setup.exe file.
Now follow the installation and check for any difference.

Hello Jgb1,
HP Zbook has 3 usb 3.0 and 1 usb 2.0 ports. So, when you start installing the printer, do software first installation. Which means, run the software and then , when it asks to plug the usb cable, please plug it to the usb 2.0 port. That should set the installation up and running.
I don't think computer usb ports would have any other issue.
Thank you for choosing HP.
Regards,
Ashok

I followed your suggestion and unplugged the printer USB cable from the laptop but the installation stopped again before getting to the part of asking me to plug the printer cable. Same error messages. Any other suggestion?
By the way, how can I tell which of the USB ports is 2.0?
Thanks,
Joe
