Hi,
Click the Start button and type %temp% into the search bar, then open the shown Temp folder.

Open the latest HP installation folder which begins with 7z (e.g. 7zs1234)
Open the Setup folder.
Locate the usbready.exe file and rename it into usbready.old.exe
Browse back to the main extraction folder (the folders who starts with 7z) and launch the Setup.exe file.

Now follow the installation and check for any difference.

Hello Jgb1,

HP Zbook has 3 usb 3.0 and 1 usb 2.0 ports.  So, when you start installing the printer,  do software first installation. Which means,  run the software and then ,  when it asks to plug the usb cable, please plug it to the usb 2.0 port.  That should set the installation up and running.

I don't think computer usb ports would have any other issue.

Thank you for choosing HP.

Regards,

Ashok

Hi Ashok,
I followed your suggestion and unplugged the printer USB cable from the laptop but the installation stopped again before getting to the part of asking me to plug the printer cable. Same error messages. Any other suggestion?
By the way, how can I tell which of the USB ports is 2.0?
Thanks,
Joe

Did anyone have similar issue and was it fixed?

The one which is not coloured , is usb 2.0.

By the way, had you uninstalled the previously installed printer drivers ? if not, please do try that.

I did follow the steps you mentioned and did not get the USB errors anymore. The setup finished going through the first step "System check complete" and went to the next one "Preparing System for installation" which and has been running for 15 minutes and it's still did not complete. It seems like the setup is stock on this second step which is immediately before the third step "install software". Any suggestion?

Just an update. The installations worked after couple more minutes and everything completed. Thanks a lot for your help!
