Bonjour,

Make sure the original is placed face down on the scanning glass or face up in the document feeder (see Loading originals).

There may not be enough memory available to store the document you want to scan. Try the pre-scan feature to see if it works. Try lowering the scan resolution.

Check that the machine's printer cable is properly connected.

Make sure that the device's printer cable is not defective. Interchange the existing printer cable with one in good condition. If necessary, replace the printer cable.

Verify that the scanner is configured correctly. Check the scan settings in Easy Document Creator or in the application you want to use and make sure the scan job is being sent to the correct port (for example, USB001).

The scan is very slow.

Check if the machine is printing received data. If so, wait until the data has finished printing before scanning the document.

Graphics are slower to scan than text.

A message appears on your computer screen:

The device cannot be set to the desired hardware mode.

The port is currently in use by another program.

The port is inhibited.

The scanner is busy receiving or printing data. Try again after the task is complete.

Incorrect descriptor.

Scan failed.

The printer may be copying or printing. When this task completes, retry your task.

The selected port is in use. Restart your computer and retry.

The machine's printer cable may be loose or the machine may not be turned on.

The scan driver is not installed or the operating environment is misconfigured.

Check that the device is plugged in correctly and that it is powered on, then restart your computer.

The USB cable may be plugged in incorrectly or the device may not be powered on.
