Installing the firmware
- HP PageWide Pro 700 Series Printer Firmware - (Must Read README Before Installing)
- 006.2420A (LIMOFWPP1N006.2420A.00)
- 109.4 MB
- Jun 27, 2024
on HP PageWide Pro MFP 777z doesn't upgrade the touch panel firmware, it remains LIMOCPPP1N005.1807A.00
The printer starts, but not completely: The dashboard is not shown (the EWS starts, but doesn't show all items, e. g. ink).
Is there a possibility to downgrade the firmware or to do a hard reset?
It is really sad that HP offers such an incomplete firmware package!

- HP Support sent me an old firmware (file type .ful2)
- The downgrade worked "somehow":
-- Factory reset as shown in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TAzO0CZphU&pp=ygUYaHAgcGFnZXdpZGUgcHJvIG1mcCA3Nzcg
-- Options "Flash MPCA"/"Flash DPCA" (both - necessary?)
-- Insert Pen drive with ful2-file
-- Restart => Automatic downgrade with ful2-file

Extract the .ful file from the upgrade utility to a usb stick. Insert that stick into the printer's front usb port and wait for the printer to say that there is an upgrade available and apply the upgrade that way.

Thanks for your immediate reply!
Actually that's exactly what I did: I installed the firmware offered on
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-pagewide-pro-777-multifunction-printer-series/14433417
by a usb stick.
I think three things could help:
- update with a new firmware including the touch panel - HP should offer that
- "update" with an old firmware - where to find?
- hard reset to factory settings - how?
