so I installed two brand new cartridges on the printer #57 and #56 however the cartridge light on the left just keeps blinking red and I am unable to print, please help
Also does anyone here has the software for it. I've got mine in CD but on installing it stops at 14% saying it can't find the file specified and click continue - then it automatically uninstalls itself

Hello, @Dean_V – Hope you are well 🙂
Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!
I understand that you are getting cartridge error with the HP Photosmart 7260v Photo Printer. It looks like an error with the new cartridge that you purchased. Try to clean the print cartridge contacts to try and fix the issue. If the issue persists, then try the steps below to perform a power drain:
- Remove the cartridges from the printer.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
If the issue persists, then try using an alternate cartridge to try and fix the error.
I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
Good luck 🙂
