HP Photosmart C4280
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Since MAC OS update the error message

“HPDM.framework” will damage your computer.

reappears every few seconds i.e the system no longer supports the printer Photosmart C4280

It still shows in printers and printers, however neither Apple nor HP seem to provide the drivers necessary to remove the damage message.

Please provide guidance.

Hi,

Please make sure your macOS is fully up to date by installing any update for Catalina:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201541

Next, uninstall any existing HP Software by following the HP Uninstaller Utility below:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/HP_Uninstaller...

Next, download and install the latest drivers below:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/ASU/HPPrinterDrivers5.1.dm...

Finally,  open System Preferences, and then open Printers & Scanners to re-add your printer. be sure to select the printer model within the Use drop-down menu.

Thank you Shlomi.

Steps 1 and 2 were dome, however, having installed the HP package the message I get upon opening is "

This volume does not meet the requirements for this update".

Could there be another package?

When system updated (as per step 1) the system became MAC OS BigSur 11.2 (upgrade from Catalina).

Thank you for your suggestions in advance.

Hi Shlomi,

Thank you again for the response.

After downloading HP package upon opening the message is:

“HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers.pkg” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software"

This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

Help much appreciated
