Does HP stop supporting a printer after so many years?  If so, why?  If the printer still works, why would HP stop supporting it?  Is it because HP expects their customers to purchase a printer every so many years?  Is it because HP feels burdened by having to support printers that are 20 years old and still working flawlessly?

If you have an answer for my question, I would love to hear it, because I'm at a complete loss as to why HP would remove printer drivers from their website.  If you do a search for my printer drivers, you're given a link that takes you to HP.  When you get there, there's no printer driver.  Why is that?

If HP expects their customers to purchase a printer every so many years, well, that's kinda hard to do with limited funds.  If anything I would just donate a few bucks to say hey, thanks HP for being there.  But the way HP has done this community, with no support, especially when they knew Flash was coming to an end, I don't think they deserve to get anything.  HP dropped the ball in my opinion.

Because of a community member, a volunteer, who *doesn't* work for HP, they were able to get me my printer drivers, and because of a post in the community about a Flash download before the kill switch was put in, I successfully have my HP Photosmart C4680 printing and scanning, AND I am able to use the Solution Center.

I just wanted to thank the community, but I also wanted to say how disgusted I am by the lack of communication from HP employees.  Anything would have sufficed.  An apology would be the best place to start, but I don't think we'll see that happen anytime soon.

Hi,

Generally, Adobe Flash technology has retired and no longer supported, therefore also the HP Solution Center software is no longer supported

Such a usage does involve a risk and expose your system to some risks, and a basic functionality is available for your printer using a built-in solution or workarounds,
