Really running Big Sur - but not on the list of Mac OS X!
The printer has worked until this week when it started not to print photos at all well - I had to install a new printer (Ep__on) to finish off some photos for xmas. I realsied that a print head replacement might fix the issue and I managed to obtain a new one and once installed photo printing was back as good as ever (using a Window 10 laptop). But now I want to connect it to my Mac have lost all of the setting fI had before, although I can instal it, the printing set up is totally different to what it was with the Photosmart D5460. Looking on the HP website it only has a driver update no other software at all. Of course I no longer can lay my hands on the disc.
Any help advice appreciated, Thank you

Hi @Martin4x4LR,
I'd like to help!
HP Photosmart D5460 Printer driver for macOS 11 are not available from the HP website or Apple Software Update. However, Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.
NOTE: Gutenprint drivers are not supported by HP or Apple.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for your helpful reply.
After further research I found that Apple has added drivers for many HP Printers for MAC OS X, although it does not say specifically for Big Sur!

The one for D5460 solved my problem.
