Mr. MkAZI,

The model No. of my Printer is SNPRH-1504-01

I am using Widows defender firewall. However, I may stae that I have tried to install the printer by disabling the firewall without success.

I am trying to install without any antivirous installed.

I have also tried to install by disabling start up services and mirosoft services without success.

The problem is solved and the priner/scanner is working well, thanks to Mr.ShlomiL for  the solution at the link below. There is no problem in working but the printer in devices and printers still shows" needs trouble shooting" and " driver no installed". But no problem with working.

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

MKazi is at your service.

I understand that you have an HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2130 All-in-One Printer. I read that the printer drivers do not get installed on Win10. An error appears saying that "kernel which is not compatible with this version of Windows 10". Not to worry, I'll do my best to assist you with this case.

NOTE: If you're going to connect the printer via USB, then do not connect it initially. Begin the installation first and later there will be a prompt to connect the printer. That's when you may connect the printer.

Are you trying to install the drivers from the disk or by downloading from this HP website?

While you respond to that, here are a few things you can do to fix this issue:

  • Please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software. This is a free tool for Windows to help resolve issues with the printer drivers.

If the issue persists post running the HP Print and Scan Doctor, then let us uninstall the printer drivers from the root level and then reinstall them. The following steps will help:

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • You may download and install the printer drivers via this link.

This should take care of the issue. However, if the computer rejects the drivers then let us try installing the basic printer drivers via this link.

You have another option to try out the inbuilt printer drivers from the Windows operating system. To try these drivers, please follow the steps mentioned in "Step 3: Install the print driver with the Add a Printer wizard" from this HP article.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know how it goes. All the best! 🙂

I have tried all thr suggestions. I get a message that the software for the printer has been installed. But when printer is connected, the connection fails. In devices and printers, it shows " Driver unavailable".

Happy New Year!

Glad to have you back. 🙂

If the full featured drivers, basic drivers and the inbuilt drivers from Windows operating system did not help then it could be an issue with Windows. You may try to update the Windows OS and then try the drivers.

Hope this works out. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂

Hi Kazi

Happy New Year and thanks for being patient.

I have checked windows . It is updated.

I suspected windows before posting in help forum. I talked  to Micsoft helpline . They checked everything about windows for about 30 minutes and found everything OK. Micosoft advised me to contact HP for apprpriate driver.

Even though I get the message that software has been installed, in "Print server Properties", I do not see the driver HP DJ 2130 installed where as my cannon printer driver is listed there and the cannon printer is working properly.

By right clicking HP printer icon ( which says in "Properties" as "Printer driver not installed" , the scanner of the printer works but the printer does not.

You're most welcome. You've been fabulous to work with considering your superb technical skills, remarkable patience and great attitude. Kudos to you for that.

I tried to install the drivers from the same link and it was successfully installed on Win10. This is a strange issue now.

You may try to disable to the user account control in Windows and then try to install the drivers. Please refer to "Changing or disabling User Account Control" from this HP document

Cheers! 🙂

Hi Mkazi

I have tried your suggestion . The result is same (negative).

I uninstalled the printer completely. Removed user control, and then tried to install through Scan & Print Doctor 5.1. The printer was detected and message was software needed to be installed . I clicked yes and the software was downloaded, extracted and installed. But the massage was "device was not able to connect successfully over USB cable". The position is same as I got in my previous attempts.

Please note that the printer is working perfectly with my other laptop which has windos XP as operating system. This laptop is also working perfectly with Cannon 2900 printer.

My windows 10  Home is version 10.0.16299 build16299.

HP 2135 has  been tested on widows 10 as per information on HP web site
