Thanks for replying @sebyxHD
The HP - Printer - 61.2509.0.100 driver may fail to install due to compatibility mismatches, corrupted spooler services, or blocked driver signatures in Windows 11 25H2.
Let’s walk through a clean and effective fix.
1. Clear Print Spooler and Driver Store
Open Services (press Windows + R, type services.msc)
Locate Print Spooler, right-click > Stop
Navigate to:
- C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
Delete all files inside (do not delete the folder)
Then go to:
- C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
Look for folders starting with hpv* or prnhp* and remove them if possible
Restart Print Spooler from Services
2. Use HP’s Full Software Installer
- Visit HP’s official Drivers & Software page
- Enter your printer model manually
- Download the Full Software Solution package, not just the basic driver
This ensures all dependencies and services are installed correctly
3. Install via Device Manager
- Open Device Manager
- Right-click your printer under Printers or Unknown Devices
- Choose Update Driver > Browse my computer
- Point to the extracted driver folder from the full installer
4. Disable Driver Signature Enforcement (Temporary)
If Windows blocks the driver:
- Press Shift + Restart > Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings
- Select Disable driver signature enforcement
- Retry installation
5. Check Windows Update Catalog
- Visit Microsoft Update Catalog
- Search for HP - Printer - 61.2509.0.100
- Download the .cab file and extract it
- Install via Device Manager as above
- Ensure your printer is connected via USB or network before installing
- Avoid using HP App during driver setup — install drivers first, then launch the app
- If the driver still fails, try installing on a different Windows 11 PC to isolate the issue
