HP Printer and Scanner Driver Not working with Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 Stopped - 'Filter' Failed

Hi HP team,

I have HP Officejet 6500 E709n All-in-one printer and printer/scanner/Fax is NOT working with  Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7.  When I print I get this error Stopped - 'Filter' Failed and info icon 'One or more components of the HP printing software are corrupted or missing. The print job cannot be completed. To fix this situation, HP recommends reinstalling the print driver software.'

I removed the driver and re-installed the below driver but it gives me a save error.

Also, the Scanner does not work 'Failed to open a connection to the device (-21345)'. 

I am thinking Mac OS Catalina 10.15 previous version everything worked but It does not after upgrade.

The solution is to download (and install) this package which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essen...

Easy Admin did nothing. Easy Startup did nothing. 5.1 drivers did nothing. This worked for me!

This is not  working because this specific printer (HP Officejet 6500 E709n All-in-one printer ) isn't in the search list of essentials

Which search list? This isn't Easy Start or Easy Admin. This is something different.

I tried twice to download this file and both times at the very end of downloading it stopped with this message "Failed - Network error"

I had the same problem, but I opened this link "ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/" in the browser and I found the file "ihp-printer-essentials-S-5_14_8_4.pkg" in the list.

Hi BryanCustomPure, I successfully installed this package, but when I try to add my Printer in "System Preferences", I still can't find my exact model in the search list. Do you have another idea? What did you mean by "Which search list? This isn't Easy Start or Easy Admin. This is something different."

If you are still having this issue, what model are you searching for in the list, and are there ones that are close, and if so, what models are they?
