HI,

I would like to know If HP they have sanitization software to sanitize HDD.

We had HP Printers with our customer and they want us to sanitize the HDD before we pullout from there site.

HP Pagewide and HP LASERJET Printers.

Can any guide us to which of the HP Support we need to contact or some one from the community have the an idea for the HP Sanitization software.

Depending on the printer model ( the ones with a Futuresmart firmware) you can erase the installed HDD from the printer's preboot menu.

Hi Valsimot,  if we erase the HDD again we can retreive the data from the HDD which user dont want, user want to sanitize or purge the HDD. If we erase the HDD from the printer itself can we able to generate the erase report.

HP Recommended

No, once you erase HDD in the printer from preboot menu that HDD can't be recovered, and there is no report because after HDD erase the printer will not boot.

Thanks for the information Valsimot.

HP Printers HDD contains booting file and eprom information and it cannot generate the report after erase.

Once we erase the HDD how can we restore again becasue as you said the printer will not boot.

HP Recommended

You can upload printer firmware (includes boot OS), that will make the printer working again but it will be like new printer.
It's similar to a computer after format HDD you install new OS and you have a "new" computer. The printers HDD and data are encrypted.
