Having issues connecting HP printers that previously worked on the same Windows 11 devices, I discovered on Microsoft's site they have documented and recognize there are issues with HP software connecting HP devices on Windows devices. Microsoft suggests using the Windows setup utility via settings>devices>add printer. That has not worked on my devices either, running Windows 11 and Windows 10. As of now, my HP printers are bricked unless I print documents from my phone. Both HP and Microsoft are urged to collaborate to honor the investments made by those in the user community.

If you are looking for suggestions or assistance, you should provide the model numbers of the printer and the exact software you are trying to install as there are a few different methods depending on the printer model.

Thanks for your response. For this instance, it's an HP Envy7640. I have downloaded the exact software from HP support. The problem is it does not work. I have tried ethernet and wifi connections. The network recognizes the printer, the printer shows connected with high signal strength, the pc is on the network, but I cannot have the pc recognize the printer. I have uninstalled and re-installed the software multiple times, uninstalled and re-installed the printer, and used both the HP software bundle and the Windows printer install. I was installing printers on PCs in the days of DOS, Windows 3.0, and Windows 95, and beyond, and have sold and supported literally tens of millions of dollars worth of HP products. Again, Microsoft has acknowledged they are aware of the issues, and they recommend the Windows Device Install procedure as a workaround, but that is also not recognizing my printers. I have multiple HP Officejet model printers with the same issues. That said, the support I need is for MS and HP to fix this, meanwhile I'm just getting a Brother. It's just an el-cheapo to generate hard copy when necessary. Nobody prints anything anymore, unless it's for someone stuck in the 90s. Also, Epson has always stunk!
