Can someone please share a link where i can download the basic HP scan software.

Not the the HP scan and capture.

I am looking for this basic one

Caveat / Note

You did not include your printer model in your message.

I pulled the model name out of the image you posted.

If this is not your printer - the following is not your answer...

HP Scan and Capture is an application.

HP Scan and Capture is dependent on the printer software having been installed, 

HP Scan and Capture is a nice app; it is not HP Scan.

Be Aware - there are two printer software packages for this older printer .

Opinion

Unless you must do so, I suggest you do not opt for the "Basic" version of the printer software.

Basic Instructions - Install the Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software

Preparation

• If using VPN, shut it off to install software.  NOTE >> If you don’t know what this is, you are not using a VPN – ignore this part.

• Not working?  If the printer software is still / already installed, Uninstall the printer software  from Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features > Restart the computer and log in – Reference Uninstall HP printer software and drivers

Check:  After the printer software is uninstalled, check that the printer is not still lurking in Devices and Printers.  If found, Right-Click on the printer and "Remove"

• Reminder:  If using USB cable between printer and computer, disconnect the cable before installing software.  Later... Connect the cable when instructed (near the end of the installation procedure).

Installation

• Download and Save the Full Feature Software installation package or the Easy Start Software
• Open File Explorer
• Navigate to the folder in which you saved the installation file  (likely Downloads)
• Right-Click on the installation package and “Run as Administrator”
• If using Easy Start > When asked, opt for "Full Driver" (exact wording might vary).
• If using Easy Start > Skip any extra software / offers you do not want (wording varies).
• After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

Preparation > Check / enable the printer as the “Default Printer”

Settings > Devices > Printers and scanners

UNCHECK (clear box) Let Windows manage my default printer

Select (Left-Click) your printer from the list of printers > Manage > Set as Default

hey there,

Thanks for the reply.

I should  have mentioned the printer model is Deskjet 3050.

I downloaded the full software for this....but HP scan is not inculded or showing up.

HP scan and capture, does not allow to crop PDF while scanning.

Hence I am looking for HP Scan, simple but works brilliant.

HP Scan and Capture is a simple and fun application that captures photos or documents from any* HP scanning device or your computer's built-in camera.  These images can be previewed, edited, saved, and shared to other applications.

Click Start (windows key) > Open the All Apps List > scroll the list 

Open Category HP

Find and open the HP Scan and Capture application

Right-Click on the application and PIN to Start

Is there a way to connect a canon printer to work with the HP deskjet 3050software and basically HP scan.

HP scan and capture allows me to connect to my canon printer along with my HP printer, but i cannot find a way to make the canon printer run with the full HP software for.

Correction: HP scan and capture allows you to crop PDF but does not allow to rotate pages individually....either all are selected or none,....

Edits / Updates - HP Scan and Capture (Scan and "Add" page / content)

At the moment I don't have an example plate for Scan and Capture > Scan > Crop that illustrates the ability to Scan > Edit / Crop / Add Page (+) / Save the results.

Just tested again...The process is a bit slower than might be ideal - but it works.

One thing that somewhat speeds up the process - at least for Photos / Images -

If more than one photo fits on the printer flatbed, place multiple photos on the flat bed

Note:  The "Add" feature works similarly in HP Smart)

Start HP Scan and Capture

Scan the group of photos / content on the flatbed

Crop out one single section (one photo)

Go back and "Add" (+) another scan (of that same group)

Crop out a different photo > Go back and Add another scan...

Repeat until scans are complete and Save the results

Your Canon printer should have scan software of its own - perhaps packaged similarly to the HP software where the scan software is part of the Canon full driver printer software package.

Sorry, no - I know of no way to connect the Canon to HP full driver printer software (or HP Scan).

Why?

HP Scan (internally) questions and verifies the printer type, model, and features - if the answers are not valid (as far as the software is concerned), the query fails.

There are additional scan software and application options, some of which might work with your printer model.

One Example

Examples,

HP Smart (Windows) 

Scan (or Import) photo / image files 

Edit > Crop the current file / image / scan content

Add another file / image / scan to the group

Save the group of scanned / imported / edited results as individual files to selected destination.

• Turn on Wi-Fi on your computer or mobile device and connect to your network. If the computer is connected to the network with an Ethernet cable, temporarily disconnect the cable and use the Wi-Fi connection during the setup.

• HP Smart requires that you sign into the application using your HP Account credentials.

• When working through a browser to access HP Smart, be sure you have Cookies enabled.  If cookies are enabled and you are having trouble, clear Cache and Cookies.   And / Or … Try a different browser – assign that browser as the Default. (Note:  Chrome not working?  Use / Assign a different default browser.)

• Where possible, HP Smart benefits (likes) having the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software installed.  For example, full driver provides access to Shortcuts and Printing Preferences.

• Document includes the HP Smart application download links for Windows and Mobile devices, plus an FAQ section to assist with questions / issues.
  •  FAQ examples: 
    • What are the requirements to use the HP Smart app?
    • Which printers are compatible with the HP Smart app?
    • Why do I need to sign in or create an account to use the HP Smart app features?
    • Which languages does the HP Smart app support?
  • Older versions of the HP Smart app no longer support the required login feature.
