On my older Dell Desktop, running Win10 Home, the HO Smart app ran fine,. I have an installed Officejet 9012e All-in-one printer.
The printer was USB cable connected to teh desktop, but also ran on WiaFi to my two laptops in the house. (One laptop ihas Win10 OS and the hewer HO Omen laptop is running Win11.
A few weeks ago, it quit working from thedesktop. It would operate fine for printing, but ithe HP SMART would not open to use the scan function.
(Before continuing, I acknowledge that both laptops are functioning fine via wireless using the HO SMART app.)
Actions taken, so far:
1) I have tried uninstalling the HP SMART app.
2) Checked to confirm that the OS is up to date with its available updates.
3) I then reinstalled the HP SMART APP. The system took my to the Microsoft Store, and the
GET" APPEARS' to have downloaded the software.
4) I clicked on the 'OPEN' button on the store, and it appeared to have installed the HP SMART App.
5) It takes several minutes to open the SMART program.
6) When I click on "SCAN", it takes an inordinate amount of time to open to a page that wants me to either "Create an HP Account" or "Sign In". (There is also a button to 'SKIP'.)
7) As I have an HP account, I select Sign In and I do get the login page.
😎 After entering the Sign In information, the screen displays a rotating circle, but the app goes no further.
Again, I do not believe it to be a printer problem, as it functions correctly with the HP SMART app loaded on both of my laptops. And since that is the case, I have to believe that the error of somewhere in the Download/installation from the Microsooft Store, or somethinf else in the desktop that is causing the problem.
It is quite inconvenient to have to bring the laptop into my den where the printer is located just to scan documents, but that has been my current workaround.
Please help me find a solution to make sure that the APP is loaded correctly and I can again begin using the SCAN function on the desktop configuration.
Thank you for your help!
