I am trying to set up my OfficeJet Pro 6975 for wireless connectivity. I was able to get the HP Smart app to recognize the printer, but when I proceed, I am stuck with a loading screen that says "Getting ready for setup" with a blue spinning circle. It's also grayed out with a white box covering portions of the loading screen. Sometimes the screen remained for a long period of time, other times it would crash. What can I do to fix this problem? Should I try and restart the whole setup process again? Let me know of any possible solutions that I can try.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that your printer is stuck on getting "Getting ready for setup" , I am glad to assist you.

Perform a power reset , Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates

It's gotten much worst since then. When I go back into the HP Smart App, I get this error message (Pictured Below) even though my computer is able to detect the OfficeJet 6970 and is connected to the same network. Also, the printer is up to date when it comes to updates. Is the HP Smart App not compatible with Windows 11? Screenshot 2022-01-18 110347.png
