Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I have a LaserJet MFP M148dw and I have a new Windows 11 laptop but when I try to download the FULL software for the scanner - the HP pops up - NO PLUG N PLAY.  Now the computer printer is recognized- it prints,  the scanner works using the Win 11 App (terrible by the way) so its not a physical issue.  Its the software downloads but then disappears from desktop that HP couldn't complete it.   Now, is this HP not updating for Windows 11 or is something in Win 11 that prevents using HP software.  SO frustrating because I use the HP scan software alot on Win 10 and its great so don't want to lose it.    Any advice from HP or if others are having this issue downloading the software from HP's site.  Thanks.
