Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Windows 10 Pro computer that I am trying to connect to a HP LaserJet 1000 Series printer over a network. I can see the printer when I try to add a printer, but Windows says it can't find an INF file for it. (I assume that is part of the print driver package.)

I have looked through the community and found some other threads about the topic, but links to the drivers are all dead.

I found one link through Google that had a driver for locally attaching an HP LaserJet 1000 Series printer, but when I attempted to connect it to my Windows 10 Pro laptop, the Windows reported that a bad device was attempting to connect to the laptop.

Does anyone have some updated instructions or links to how to accomplish this? The printer is still going strong with the XP devices I have on the network.

Hi,

The HP Laserjet 1000 series is a very old model, introduced over about 20 years ago, and it is no longer supported on any later OS, Windows Vista was the latest compatible OS and no drivers are available for any newer operating system:

Thanks for the quick reply!

I realize the equipment is very old and not officially supported by HP anymore. But people have posted work arounds to allow them to continue to use there HP Laserjet 1000 Series with unsupported versions of Windows.

When I look at the links they posted for drivers to be part of these work arounds, the links are dead.

I am just trying to avoid adding another printer to the mix when I have a perfectly serviceable printer working with my other computers.
