I just bought a new HP OfficeJet Pro 9014. Installation of HP Smart on my personal laptop, iPhone and iPad went really smooth. Now I'm trying to install the app also on the laptop of my daugther. In installation process however fails to launch from the Microsoft Store. Even if I click the 3 dots next to the installation button and really select this device, the installation does not start.
It is quite urgent as she needs this laptop for school and she really needs to be able to print documents.
Can anybody give me an idea what I can do next?
Thanks a lot in advance.

First order of business
Get the Full Driver printer software installed so Daughter can print.
There are two flavors of printer software:
HP Smart Application from the Microsoft Store.
Nice app - provides some good features and a "mobile" type GUI interface that people seem to like.

Caveat
"The Store" >> From where I am located (USA), things look a lot different - we likely use different Microsoft servers, the language might be different. Generally, "apps" from the Store are accessible everywhere but there are regional differences.
The following is general advice regarding installations and the Microsoft Store - none of it is guaranteed to make any difference to you.
Printer Software – Blocked in Security Software
NOTE: This section is also relevant to installing any type of printer software and pretty much anything else you want to add / load into your computer / Windows.
Check your Security Software to make sure the printer software is not being blocked. Most Security software will allow you to make an exception for applications / software you want to use on your computer.
If you make changes to the security software setup, Restart your computer and log in.
Check - App "partially" installed / stuck / oddly placed in Apps?
Problems with HP Smart Windows App?
Can’t log into HP Smart using your HP Account?
- Make sure you are running the latest (newest) app version.
- Make sure your Windows Updates in current and installed.
- Try reloading the HP Smart Application:
Uninstall HP Smart > Restart the computer and log in > Install the application from the Microsoft Store
Settings > Apps > Apps and Features
Search or scroll down and find HP Smart
Left-Click on the item > Uninstall
Restart the computer and log in
"Get" a new copy of the Application from the Microsoft Store

Check - Try a different Browser
For example, using standard Edge?
Upgrade to Chromium Edge
Download the new Microsoft Edge based on Chromium
OR
Use any other browser you like. For example, Firefox is generally highly configurable.
Make Sure you are logged into your Microsoft Account
Small detail - most people are already using a Microsoft account login / account on their computers. Not everyone does so, however, so make sure you have full access to the store

Solid software foundation on which most printing options are based.
Installation – Full Feature Software
If you have not done so, download-save-install the Full Feature Software for the printer
HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software
- Download-and-Save the printer software (Full Feature Software / HP Smart / Easy Start)
- Right-Click on the downloaded package and "Run as Administrator" to start the installation
- Reminder: If using Easy Start, select the Full Driver
About 2/3 of the way through the setup, you will be given the opportunity to select the software - select the "Full" driver set (as opposed to the basic driver).
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.
Full driver provides print and scan functions (even if HP Smart proves to be stubborn).

Hi @Dragon-fur,
I actually didn't have to go through your whole explanation. I just stared with the Windows 10 section and followed once more the links that are also provided on the HP official pages. These pages are always redirecting me to the Windows Store.
This time I was however able to trigger the download. Once the HP Smart App got installed the actual configuration went very smooth.
I don't know what was different with all the other attempts I made earlier, but this time it worked.
Thanks in any case for your 'very' fast reply.

You are welcome.
I am glad it worked out quickly.
If you wish to do so, do install the Full Feature Software (full driver). It provides a good foundation for printing (from Word, for example).
I added the "other" primarily because you were in a bind AND our time zones are so different that delays can mean more "waiting about" for something new to be added. Smiling.
One more "extra"
Adobe Reader DC – Needed Whether You Use It or Not
If you have not done so,
Reinstall / Update your PDF Reader (Adobe Reader DC /Optional Foxit Reader)
HINT: Watch out for and UNCHECK unwanted extra software
NOTE: Adobe Reader DC software should be installed even if you do not normally open / view / print PDF files directly from the Adobe Reader DC software.
Stay Safe!
Better 2021 for all!
