Deskjet Plus 4155
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought a new Deskjet Plus 4155 printer and downloaded the HP Smart app to run it. There is no USB port connection to my laptop so it connects wireless. At first, the app seemed to work fine and said the printer was "Ready" but there was always an error when sending a print job to the que. 90% of the time I had to cancel the print job(s). I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything and NOW the HP Smart app is stuck in "Do you want to help make HP Smart better by sharing usage data?" Before, the app would simply shut down. I'm not the brightest when it comes to these type things but I'm not completely clueless either. I am ready to pack it up and send it back. My old 6100 All-In-One worked 100 times better and was much easier. Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.

@TDeMarco

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, let's update the printer's firmware, refer - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue persists, follow the next steps.

Uninstall the app from your Windows 10 device through the All Apps list.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Apps & features.

    Searching for Apps & features

  2. Click HP Smart in the list of apps, and then click Uninstall.

    Uninstalling HP Smart app

And, install HP smart app from here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04675142

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
