I've been using the HP Smart App for about a year now. Today for some reason, when I click "scan" the entire app goes away. I've been wasting hours so far trying to contact HP. please help. What is the support phone number?

I understand you are not able to scan using the HP Smart app. Let us try these steps:
Make sure windows is up to date.
Reinstall the app from the Microsoft Store. Download the latest version.
If this does not help, use the HP Scan Extended app to scan and check if that helps.
You can Download-Save-Install > HP Scan Extended
- If the link above does not work, copy and paste the ftp address below into your browser: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

I did uninstall and re-install HP Smart. I also installed the HP Smart Extended. Neither of these solutions worked. I am about to purchase an Epson scanner now, as I have no more faith in HP. Thanks for helping, anyway.

Did you get any errors while trying to use the HP Scan Extended app?
For more info on scanning, refer to - How to scan with an HP printer
If the issue persists, click here to download the HP Full-feature driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Try scanning.
