Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was helping a neighbor set up his WIN10 computer.  He has an HP Envoy printer and I suggested he install the HP Smart software to monitor the ink levels and provide scanning.  During the registration, I incorrectly entered his email address.  This then invalidated the verification process since the information in the email went to a non-valid address.  I returned to the HP Smart application and clicked on 'edit email'.  A rotating circle presented itself and for the next minute, the rotating circle remained on screen.  Nothing I could do would allow me to update his email in this application.

I did not clear the cache if that had any impact on the outcome.  He is running Webroot and Malwarebytes. the PC is also up to date on all windows OS changes.

Can someone instruct me in the process to edit the email entered in the HP Smart application?
