I just purchased an OfficeJet 9015e and installed HP Smart on my Windows 11 and my wife's Windows 10 desktop computer. The printer is hooked via Ethernet cable to the same router that both of our computers are connected to.
When I installed HP Smart on my PC it went flawlessly. It recognized and connected to the printer on the first try and everything worked immediately as expected. But when I installed the software on my wife's machine it failed to recognize the printer at first, and I had to enter the IP address manually. That worked fine -- it saw it and connected to it instantly and all the print/scan functions work fine.
HOWEVER, the Scan function works differently on my machine than it does on hers. I have several functions that her installation does not have.. Under "Advanced Presets," my installation shows options for "Document," "Photo," Multi-item," "Book," and "ID Card," while hers shows only "Document" and "Photo." Furthermore,, under the little Magic Wand icon at the top right, I have an option for "Auto-Heal" that she lacks. Otherwise they are the same.
Is this normal, or perhaps a difference between Windows 10 and 11, or maybe it is the far greater processing power of my graphics card (an nVidia GeForce RTX-3060 vs., her nVidia GeForce GT-740. I would like her functionality to at least match mine if possible.
