HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3700 Series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Team,

I'd like to use a recently bought HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3776 with my laptop. Trying to install HP Smart through WIndows store, and it kept getting stuck at 90.88MB on all attempts.

stuck here.png

I've tried:

  1. Resetting and troubleshooting Windows Store before downloading
  2. Re-installing from link provided in HP Support.
  3. Re-installing from searching HP Smart in Windows Store.
  4. Downloading with signed in Microsoft account.
  5. Downloading without signing in Microsoft account.
  6. Resetting my router (in case it is connection issue).

All failed.

Please help. I've wasted three days trying to install it via Windows Store with failures. Don't you have the software provided for offline installation or independently ( not in Windows Store)?

At this writing:

There is no alternative "download" method for the HP Smart application.

Anything left to try?

➡️  Check your Security software to make sure it is not trying to help you by refusing the download / installation.

➡️  Try a different network.

NOTE:  Assuming a home (not work environment) network, decent ISP, updated router, and a non-mesh / non-VPN network, this is not likely the problem, but if you can try it, nothing lost and possibly everything gained.

➡️  Kick Windows Updates to be sure these are not stuck / part of the problem.

➡️  Check your Windows version - HP Smart won't run in anything older than version 1803.

Hey Dragon-Fur,

Okay, let me try. So far:

1. Security Software: Cylance antivirus didn't quarantine nor detect threats during the download/installation. Neither does Windows Defender blocking anything while downloading/installation.
2. Different network: Yes, broadband.
3. Windows Update: Updated
4. Windows version: 20H2, OS build 19042.746

I'm not sure which one works, because it seems to work after I shut down, sleep it off, and try again the next morning.

But in any case, thanks a bunch!
