HP OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One Wireless
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

First off, the HP Smart app has been nothing but a nightmare since Ive been forced to use it. I had a previous printer, OfficeJet 3830 that used to connect to my computer, then didnt want to when I had to use the HP Smart app. Had to use the Mobile HP Smart app to connect to it, but then it wouldnt print properly, so I bought a new printer, OfficeJet 5255, to replace it due to its age, thinking a new printer would surely work properly.

The HP Smart app cant find my printer no matter what I do. Ive done the manual set up on the printer to connect it to my wifi, the computer nor the mobile app can find it. Ive reverted its networking settings back into set up mode, and the mobile app can find it but refuses to finish the setup and gets hung on "Checking Printer Status". After following the starting steps, it asks for me to input my wifi password, and then gives an error stating "Are you sure thats your password?" where I confirm it again. After the second confirmation it acts as if its good to go, where it will just sit on the "Checking Printer Status" section and never moves forward.

This has been a nightmare of a setup, and no alternatives Ive been finding online will work. I am using a wired connection on my desktop computer, and my phone is wirelessly connected to the specific network I am connecting my printer to. If I am doing something wrong, please let me know because I dont want to have just wasted $140+ on a new printer that wont work.
