HP ENVY 6030 All-In-One Printer

Hello !

I do not need my printer anymore, and my friend is about 18 years older and really can benefit from it.

How do I transfer the printer to her?

The printer works fine, a spare B&W cartridge is with her too.

She has setup an HP Smart Print account, we are in the same country (England, United Kingdom), and in the same city!.

BUT - somehow, I find it challenging to do so.

Thank you

Hi @pequot,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to transfer the HP ENVY 6030 All-In-One Printer to a new user through HP Smart is a great idea, and it can be done smoothly by following a few steps. Here’s what to do:

1. Remove Your HP Account Information (If Linked)  HP Instant Ink - Manage your account

  • Unlink Your HP Account: Sign in to your HP Smart account and go to the printer settings. Select "Manage Account" or "Printer Settings" and choose to remove the printer from your account.
  • Remove from HP Instant Ink (if applicable): If you had an HP Instant Ink subscription linked to the printer, you'll need to cancel or transfer it as part of the process.
    • Log in to your HP Instant Ink account.
    • Cancel the plan associated with the ENVY 6030 or change the plan's ownership, following HP’s prompts.

2. Perform a Factory Reset on the Printer

  • This step will reset all saved WiFi and account information, preparing the printer for a new setup.
  • To Factory Reset:
    • Turn the printer on.
    • Press and hold the Cancel and Wireless buttons on the control panel until the Power light blinks (usually after about 5 seconds). This resets the printer to factory defaults.

3. Help Your Friend Set Up the Printer HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  • Add Printer to HP Smart: Guide your friend to open the HP Smart app on their device and sign in with their HP Smart account.
  • Connect the Printer to WiFi: In the HP Smart app, use the setup instructions to connect the printer to her WiFi. The app will detect the printer if it’s on the same WiFi network.

4. Set Up HP Instant Ink (If Desired)

  • If she wants to enroll in an HP Instant Ink subscription, she can sign up for it in her HP Smart app under her account, using her new settings.

Refer to this document: HP ENVY 6030 All-In-One Printer User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
