HP Smart Tank 6001 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I've never used a printer before and I'm trying to setup a printer my dad gave me. It isn't brand new, it used to belong to a friend of his, I'm not sure for how long. It's an HP Smart Tank 6001. I've been attempting to connect to the printer via the HP Smart app for the past hour but the app hasnt been able to detect my printer. I initially thought it was a WiFi issue so I restarted my router but that didn't fix anything. I searched up some solutions and the help page said to restore WiFi setup mode, although whenever I followed the steps of holding the i button for five seconds until the control panel buttons lit up, they never lit up no matter how long I held it for. I've turned my printer on and off multiple times and I've tried to follow some tutorials but none of them have really helped me. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? I'd really appreciate some help, I have to print a few documents for a school project.

Hi @robsterzombi

1.  Restart your printer and make sure your printer is connected directly to power plug. (no power strips)

Thank you for your suggestion! Unfortunately I restarted it and plugged it into an outlet since it was previously connected to a power strip, but once I followed the video and held down the information button the rest of the buttons never lit up. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong
