@MikeWolfe42945, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It seems you're experiencing a firmware update failure with your HP Smart Tank 7602 printer, which has resulted in a steady yellow light, previously flashing before the reset attempt. Here's a step-by-step guide to help resolve this issue:

Troubleshooting Steps for Firmware Update Failure:

Check Power Supply:

  • Ensure the power cord is securely connected to the printer and the wall outlet. Try using a different power outlet if possible.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds before releasing it.

Verify Connectivity:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to a stable network (wireless or wired).
  • Check if there are any issues with your internet connection that might have disrupted the firmware update.

Firmware Reinstallation:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware version for your model.
  • Follow the instructions on the website to manually reinstall the firmware using a computer connected to the printer.
  • Refer: Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support

Run HP Smart:

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
