I had to uninstall my HP Office Jet 8015e from my desktop and reinstall it.  the HP Smart app told me I needed to finish the set up.  I clicked on it and I got the following message:

Unable to register the printer to your account

This printer is associated with another account. You can use this printer and the HP app to print, scan, copy, and more, but you will not have access to cloud features like Print Anywhere.

HP will provide information in the future when you can request access to use cloud features of this printer.

Error Code: UA_400_EB000U0422Save this code if contacting HP Support.
I call support and talked to someone- then all the sudden he couldn't hear me and then he said he was hanging up but would call me back. I'm still waiting!

Hi @Rosalie200657,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When you encounter an issue where the HP Smart app indicates that your printer is associated with another account, preventing access to certain cloud features, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Verify Current User Account: Ensure that you are logged in with the correct HP account. If you have multiple accounts, check that you are using the one associated with your printer.

Remove and Re-add Printer: Sometimes, removing the printer from your account and then re-adding it can resolve conflicts. Go to the HP Smart website, sign in, and under the Printers tab, remove the printer. Then attempt to add it again.

Perform Printer Reset: Resetting the printer can sometimes disassociate it from any account settings.

Check Printer's Status: Ensure that the printer is connected to the internet. Sometimes, a network issue can prevent proper registration.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
