HP ENVY 4516 ...same issue. Have to sign in to use HP Smart photo print but after signing up it continues to loop "Thanks For Waiting" an will not let me into program. Followed their recommendations and uninstalled, reinstalled, reregistered, but continues  to give same error. Printer driver is working as I can use other software to print but I would like to use the options and templates in the HP smart software. It obviously appears to be the HP software program. 

I always believe HP to be a highly trusted and regarded company, but after seeing so many users with the same issue, and all recommendation given not rectify issue, I am beginning to change my opinion. 

This does not appear to be the users issue, but a HP software support issue.

Please stop looking for excuses and fix your software issue.

In my case, my Internet goes through a Proxy and over VPN ... so that might be, indeed! 

And yes ... I also find it ridiculous to be forced to login, in order to use my network printer/scanner!

Same exact problem. I never like to comment but HP is pissing me off. I use Mac OS11 and used to be able to scan by going to System Preferences > Printers and Scanners > HP Envy 4500 > Scanner

It stopped working and I was forced to download the HP Smart app. Now nothing works. I don't even print with the HP printer now because it's terrible. I bought myself a b&w Brother laser printer for $200 and it has been amazing. 

Fix this please, HP. I can't even use your printer because of a stupid software problem?

Same issue and its been more than 6 months since this has been posted. Got a college exam I need to print stuff for buts its great I got this HP printer  that acts like a brick. Seriosuly, I need to sign in to print but the sign in function is broken. Save yourself get another printer

Same issue, WTAF are you thinking, HP? My printer is a HPBA7433 (HP DeskJet 3700 series) and the setup hangs at "Thank you for waiting." COULD YOU PLEASE FIX THIS?

Please fix this, I would like to be able print, etc FROM MY COMPUTER. It is precisely why I have one, actually.

I have exactly the same issue. I need to scan an important document ASAP but the printer is totally unuseable because it requires you to log in to use the software... it's just ridiculous. Would you fix this, please?
