Reply:

I have the same issue trying to scan from a Win10 64bit machine connected to an Envy 4520. I can print just fine, but scanning requires a login. I entered my email/account name (that works just fine logging in to the website), and I get an error before it asks for my password.

I have uninstalled the Smart driver from my computer, and reinstalled the current Smart driver from the HP support site. Same problem.

Hi @jkondza,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code "UA_400_EB000U0217" is related to the HP Smart login process, indicating that there is an issue with the login credentials or the authentication process. Here are a few troubleshooting steps that you can follow to resolve this issue.

  • Verify your login credentials: Make sure that you are entering the correct email address and password associated with your HP Smart account. If you are unsure of your credentials, try resetting your password using the "Forgot password" option on the login page.
  • Clear your browser cache: Sometimes, the browser cache can cause login issues. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies and then try logging in again.
  • Disable browser extensions: Some browser extensions can interfere with the login process. Try disabling any extensions that may be causing issues and then try logging in again.
  • Use a different browser: If the above steps do not work, try using a different browser to log in to HP Smart. Sometimes, browser-specific issues can cause login problems.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
