@shlomil I checked about the custom scaling link in red and it seems that particular computer has a theme where text in all dialog boxes is red. I think its just an appearance thing.
As for changing the resolution to 1920x1080 that will not work for us, we are a graphics design company with many large screens and higher resolutions are needed to run our business. It wouldn't be practical or feasible to change all computers to a low resolution. Some computers wont even have 1920x1080 as a native option (not all displays are 16:9).
For now we will use the embedded web server on the printer interface, using a web browser. That seems to work ok. So I don't keep getting calls about this issue 😉

Come on HP, fix this junk software. The same issue is also posted here - https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/Save-dialog-in-HP-Smart-gets-truncated/...

I am having the same problem. I have an HP Envy computer. I generally dock to two monitors. I tried to use only the laptop and it didn't solve the problem. All my monitors are 2K and my laptop 4K. Thus as you mentioned that it might be due to those with higher resolution, but there still needs to be a fix.

Hi guys,
Please download and install the latest HP Smart update from the Microsoft Store, I believe this should resolve this problem:

Sorry, the new version of HP Smart doesn't solve the problem for me -- while I used to scan without needing an HP account using HP Smart, now the "upgrade" won't let me scan until I login/create an account with HP, which I am not willing to do to use the printer. I guess I'll just use Microsoft's SCAN utility that's built into Windows 10, that gives me the ability to scan with my HP printer without having HP track my usage of my printer.
