When opening HP Smart to scan to my HP Office jet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One printer, it will not let me scan and tells me that the "Printer Status is Unknown"
I can still print to the printer via Wifi and I can also scan from the printer directly to the PC, but for some reason HPO Smart cannot see the printer?

Hi,
Try Forgetting the printer by right-clicking it and then add the printer back and check.
If the same persists, search for HP Smart, right-click it and Uninstall the app, then reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.
