Hi everyone,

I recently acquired a Laserjet M234sdwe and it was already bad surprise to learn that it MUST be set up with some app.

I went on to download and found it to be the single most atrocious app I have ever used.

After doing EVERYTHING that I was asked, even signing up for some service I have not the least intention of using, I still get nothing.

When I was on the setup screen, it asked me to go to "Printers & Scanners" to "add a new printer". I selected the printer and clicked ADD, but the required drivers that were supposedly installed are not there. The ADD button simply won't enable because there's no driver installed.

I tried re-installing with USB instead (I would much rather the printer on ethernet and USB than wifi), it's always the same thing: when it's "Done", it keeps saying setup incomplete.

To add to the irony, within the HP Smart app, it keeps telling me: "This printer must be setup with HP Smart".

Before I repack and take it the store, is there an offline driver for this printer? The website only offers the HP Smart option, and there's nothing smart about it.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

UPDATE: The store was nice to take it back and refund me in full.
