I have found out that I can use Solution Centre to scan after all although the C4500 linked to Wireless does not appear on the screen. Well, after a fashion - I linked USB cable connecting the PC to the printer and, yes, the C4500 came up C4500_series_TMP0 ! Windows 10 settings has TWO C4500s - one on wireless and one on USB. Weird ! Means I can scan and print so have to be gradful. Thanks for listening !

My mistake here - meant Windows 10 (32) ! Actually I solved the problem. Booted my other computer (on Ubuntu) and used hplip to put the C4580 on wireless. Very impressed with speed and ease ! Booted my Windows 10 computer and was able to find my C4580 on wireless. Yippee ! BUT Solution Center cannot find it. Solution please - don't want to go through all that bother reinstalling drivers etc. Can I just download the Center and set it up using a link. PLEASE PLEASE help !

@PeterRing I'm glad to know you've got the issue sorted, that said, to answer your question, solution center is outdated and no longer supported on Windows 10,

Although, you could use the HP Print Assistant as an alternative to the same software: Click here for the FAQs

I hope that helps!

If it did, please select "Accept as solution", followed by thumbs up to say thanks,

And have a good day, ahead.

Thanks - I will look into it. My point was - I was given a link last year (see earlier post) so that I could move my witeless C4580 into Solution Center. It worked beautifully but I need to do it again after moving the printer to a new Wireless. The link does not seem to be there now. I wanted you to let me have the link again. Must be somewhere on a backup !

The reason for that link in the first place was my CD was hopelessly out of date - made for Windows Visa or something and does not work on Windows 10!

@PeterRing I appreciate the clarification, here's the link to the driver's page for your HP Photosmart C4580 All-in-One Printer

Click here to visit (Select the OS version before downloading the appropriate software/driver for your device).

Sigh ! I downloaded as you suggested but it did not do any good. I suspect the package does not contain Solution Center files and so does not set it up - the package was presumably set up after 2011 or whatever the date is when Printer Assistant came in. Not only that - it does not have Printer Assistant for the C4500 series. So any idea ? How do I scan on Windows 10 on C4500 - with the simple scan only my 5530 can use it ! 5530 also has Printer Assistant but cannot add C4500 to Assistant.
