HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!  I recently realized that I no longer see my HP Printer Assistant available to me (formerly HP Solutions Center).  I have read several posts and have followed the instructions provided in the postings -- primarily to uninstall and reinstall my drivers.  I have done that a number of times now, including reboots in between, but upon installation I only see two HP items in my Programs (HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 and HP Update).  The downloaded file I have been using is OJ8600_1316.exe.  From what I can tell this is the appropriate file.  What is particularly interesting is that upon installation the HP Printer Assistant opens on my screen (but it is not listed in my programs, nor can I pin it to my task bar).  As soon as I close that screen I can not get it back.

Help is greatly appreciated.  I have had to resort to using the Windows scan program and I don't really like that as well

Thank you!

Hi,

The HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 icon under your program launches the HP Printer Assistant application, you should not look for any other option but your printer name to launch the HP Printer Assistant.

Holy smokes, Shlomi.  It does now.  I promise you that during many of my re-installations it did not.  I apparently quit trying to click on it at some point because it wasn't doing anything.  THANK YOU for setting me straight.  Very much appreciate the help.

Hello, I  have the exact same problem.  My officejet pro 8600 icon will bring up the Printer assistan question "Do you want this app to make changes to your computer"  When you click yes.  It goes away.

The program icon on the left side of Windows 10 also does not bring up the Printer Assistant.  Does anyone have a new solution?

Thank you
