HP Solution Center Install On 2 PC's for Same Printer

HP Recommended
Photosmart C410A
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have two PC'S running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and one HP Photosmart C410A printer, wireless connections to my network.  The solution center has worked fine on the first PC it was installed on.  I have tried to install it onto my new PC but I get an error message about USB software and hardware; it will not attempt to connect and install wirelessly.

My question:  Can you run HP solution center from two different PC's for the same Photosmart C410A printer?

Thanks.

Yes,

You may install the HP Solution Center software on several computers connected to the same netowrk as your printer.

try following these steps to resolve the USB error during the installation:

Click the Start button and type %temp% into the search bar, then open the shown Temp folder.

Open the latest HP installation folder which begins with 7z (e.g. 7zs1234)
Open the Setup folder.
Locate the usbready.exe file and rename it into usbready.old.exe
Browse back to the main extraction folder (the folders who starts with 7z) and launch the Setup.exe file.

Now follow the installation and check for any difference.

Regards,
Shlomi

Thanks so much.  This helped get me past the error and I now have the Solution Center installed.  However, when I try to start the Solution Center, I receive a message that it cannot because my device installation is not complete and it wants me to plug in a USB cable or re-run setup for a network installation.  I have re-run setup several times and that has not fixed whatever the problem is.  Any ideas what might be wrong?

Hi,

First, can you see the HP Digital Imaging Monotr icon listed within the System Tray (near the clock).

Be sure to check within the Hidden icons as well by clickinmg the up arrow to its left

If not, please let me know prior followig any furhter steps.

If the icon do appear and the issue remain, try following the steps listed under ''HP Solution Center cannot run' or 'Scan is busy or in use' error displays with a network connected printer' below:

It seems that my printer cannot be contacted over the network.  Does this mean the installation may haved failed?

I checked the device manager and there seems to be a problem, since there are no drivers installed.  Should there be drivers if this is a wireless installation?  Should the full feature package from the HP download site load any drivers that are necessary?

This will be my last post.  I had to delete the printer from the "Device Manager" and "Devices and Printers", shut down my computer and unplug the router.  After that, what seemed to help get the ball rolling was right-clicking on the printer in the "network" view which allowed me to see an install option, which I did.

After that, an icon on my desktop, which was placed there by HP automatically, "Add Device" finally worked.  I am now operational.  I know this is not very good documentation, but I hope it helps someone.
